Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Metis S.R.L. collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit this website or contact us. It is provided in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”).
1. Who is responsible for your data
Metis S.R.L. (“Metis”, “we”, “us”), an Italian innovative startup with registered office at Via Manzoni 19, 20121 Milan (MI), Italy, is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. You can reach us at info@metis-corp.com. VAT/P.IVA: 13879800962; REA: MI – 2749711.
2. What data we collect
We collect:
- Data you provide — when you use the contact form or email us: your name, email address, company (optional), the topic and the content of your message.
- Data collected automatically — technical and usage data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and timestamps, gathered through server logs and, subject to your consent, cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
- We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (e.g. health, political views). Please do not send such information to us.
3. Why we use it and our legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:
- To respond to your enquiries and requests — pre-contractual/contractual measures and our legitimate interest in replying to you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- To operate, secure and improve the website — our legitimate interest in a safe, functioning site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- For analytics and marketing — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent, which you can change at any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with trusted service providers acting as data processors on our behalf — for example website hosting, IT and email providers — bound by data-processing agreements, and with public authorities where required by law.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as a European Commission adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, a copy of which can be requested from us.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above. Enquiry correspondence is retained for the time needed to handle your request and a reasonable period thereafter; data collected through cookies is kept for the periods set out in the Cookie Policy. We then delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@metis-corp.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration.
10. Children
This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version; material changes affecting cookies will also be signalled through the cookie banner.
